An Everlasting Cycle: Focus, Calibrate then Refocus again.

The noun definition of focus is “the center of interest or activity”, the verb definition of focus is to “pay particular attention to”.

In both forms of definition there is only one subject. With everything we have going on in life it’s difficult to not be doing multiple things at the same time, also known as “multitasking“. We have life and many other things that can cause us to lose focus on the things that we truly want/need to focus on. This is where the words calibrate and refocus come into play.

With the many distractions and obstacles that appear in our lives, we are constantly losing focus on our goals and ambitions we have made in our lives. We aren’t robots so that’s okay, what makes it not okay is when we don’t calibrate and refocus again upon the goals we have created. We’re going to have days where things spontaneously occur that can cause us to lose focus and that’s okay. As long as we calibrate and refocus on what we need to do.

An example I can give is when we’re driving a car, which I’m hoping isn’t while texting (because that’s definitely not being focused), but let’s say we’re focused driving a car and we’re driving straight on a road and we are coming up to a turn; if we don’t calibrate and refocus we’re going to be driving off of the road soon.

That’s what life is all about. We have to focus, calibrate, and refocus; every day, every hour, every minute, every second. It’s an everlasting cycle. It’s easy to do and easy not to do. It’s one of the many keys to being successful. We just have to do it.
